Dots vs Grok Bot for recurring admin

By the Quokka Bot team · Checked 26 October 2026

Both can work on a cloud computer. The useful comparison is whether either can finish your particular job with an acceptable amount of help.

We build Quokka Bot, a competing early-access product. This is a comparison of documented capabilities, not a benchmark or a claim that we tested your portals on either service.

What the official documentation establishes

OpenAI describes a dot as an ongoing agent with a cloud computer, conversation context and saved notes. You can continue messaging while it works. Availability depends on the account and rollout. OpenAI’s Dots overview.

A dot can use connected plugins. Connecting your personal computer is separate and requires it to be online with ChatGPT open for local work; its cloud computer does not need your laptop to stay on. Computers and apps.

Grok Bot also offers persistent cloud work, connected apps and browser interaction. Bots belonging to the same account share a computer, files and browser sessions. That sharing is within the account; it is not a claim that different customers share their private data. Grok Bot’s overview.

Grok Bot documents reusable skills and routines with scheduled or supported event triggers. Its instructions recommend testing a one-time workflow before automating it. Skills and routines.

Run the same small test on both

  1. Set a finish line. Choose three vendor portals and one month. Write down the invoices you expect, including any you know are unavailable.
  2. Count interruptions. Separate necessary sign-in checks from repeated questions the agent already has enough information to answer.
  3. Inspect the files. Open each download. Check the vendor, billing period and invoice number; a successful browser click does not prove the right document arrived.
  4. Change one instruction. Ask it to skip a vendor while working. Check the final output follows the correction.
  5. Test an ordinary failure. Leave one portal signed out or choose a month with no invoice. Expect a clear missing-item report, not a claim that everything finished.

Record elapsed time, your active time and the total plan or usage cost. A demo that works once does not establish unattended reliability; repeat the job before putting it on a schedule.

Choose from the evidence

Start with whichever product you can already access and connect to the tools you use. Compare the result against the checklist, then decide whether another subscription solves a real remaining problem. Check current availability and pricing with each provider; we do not use unverified plan prices to declare a winner.
